Sound system for bathrooms and saunas

Imagine lying in a warm sauna, your eyes closed, and while the steam relaxes your muscles, ambient music or your favorite playlist gently spreads through the space. Or imagine a hot bath with relaxing melodies in the background. Does that sound perfect? It can be a reality if you know how to properly install sound in a sauna and bathroom.
In this article, we will show you how to connect quality sound to the type of environment, what is important during installation and which specific products from our offer we recommend to you.
Why soundproof the sauna and bathroom?

Music has a scientifically proven effect on mood, relaxation and overall health. You may have heard of so-called sound healing, which is receiving more and more attention. In combination with heat and humidity, several positive effects can occur, such as:
- reduction of stress, relaxation of muscle tension
- improvement of breathing and a state of meditation
- a pleasant sensory experience in a healthy environment
But be careful, the bathroom and sauna are not a very friendly environment for ordinary electronics. High humidity, temperature and steam can irreversibly damage classic speakers or amplifiers. Fortunately, there is now a solution to this problem. Before we talk more about them, let's imagine the individual types of saunas.
Differences between sauna types and what it means for sound
1. Finnish sauna (dry sauna)
- Temperature: 80 – 100 °C
- Humidity: 5 – 20 %
- Only suitable for heat-resistant speakers, ideally with a metal grille. The internal components must withstand extreme temperatures.
2. Steam sauna (hammam)
- Temperature: 40 – 50 °C
- Humidity: up to 100 %
- Here we need waterproof and vapor-proof speakers with IP65+ protection and durable cabling.
3. Infrared sauna
- Temperature: 40 – 60 °C
- Humidity: very low
- In this case, we can also use less robust solutions, but a minimum IP44 protection is recommended.
4. Biosauna
- Temperature: 45 – 60 °C
- Humidity: 40 – 60%
- A combination of moisture and heat resistance is necessary.
+ Bathroom
Although the bathroom does not reach extreme temperatures, the humidity is high here for a long time. Therefore, it is also necessary to ensure waterproofing and safe installation.
